Coaches & clubs

One code. Whole team. Same second.

Team and club codes are the main way people join Shutter. Here's everything you need to bring yours.
  1. 01

    Make a team code

A 6-character code and QR for your team or club. Takes 20 seconds in the app.

  2. 02

    Print the flyer

A one-page PDF with your code and QR. Tape it in the locker room or the club room.

  3. 03

    Send the letter

A permission letter template for your athletic director or club sponsor, ready to edit.

  4. 04

    Lift your school

Once your school has 10 members it shows on the weekly scoreboard. Teams that post together move the number.

Players need to be 16+. Coaches don't need an account to share a code, and we recommend coaches don't add players as friends.

Coach questions

Why would a team use this?

It's a low-effort way to see what your team is up to, together, a few times a week. Teams also compete for their school on the weekly scoreboard.

How do I get my team on?

Create a team code, then share the QR flyer. Players scan or type it to join. Teammates show up in a list where they can add each other with one tap; every friend request still needs the other person to accept.

Do I need permission from the school?

We recommend telling your athletic director or club sponsor. We include a ready-to-send permission letter template.

Can I see my players' photos?

Only if you're 16+, have an account, and they accept you as a friend, like anyone else. We recommend coaches don't friend players.
